The Zimmer has been proudly serving the community through its children’s museum and youth development program, youTHink, for over 25 years. In November, 2018, the museum will move from the Jewish Federation Building on Museum Row, our home for more than 15 years.

The new museum will expand our footprint from 14,000 to more than 21,000 square-feet, and is located where the EXPO line meets the Santa Monica Pier, and where the Third Street Promenade meets the Pacific Ocean. We will continue to provide everything our families love plus more classroom space, a curated gift shop, stroller parking, lockers, access to ample parking, public transportation, shopping, restaurants and more.

The children’s museum and youth programs are designed to help the young leaders of tomorrow find their voice, cultivate a social conscience, and make a positive impact in their communities. Our exhibits and programs will be expanded and modernized, while continuing to focus on values of social justice, civic engagement, diversity, and contributing to the greater good of society.

UPDATE: ShareWell Announces Significant Gift from the Cayton Family!

ShareWell is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous gift from Barry and Andrea Cayton. ShareWell’s children’s museum (currently The Zimmer Children’s Museum), which will relocate to a larger facility in Santa Monica this fall, will be named The Cayton Children’s Museum in honor of this gift.

“The Cayton Children’s Museum by ShareWell will be the place that transforms generations of children and youth by encouraging practice through play. Our exhibits and programs teach children and young people that kindness and empathy are core to strong, healthy communities where people work together to move forward,” said ShareWell founder and Chief Executive Officer Esther Netter. “We are thrilled that Barry and Andrea have committed a lead gift in support of the new museum as our campaign progresses with great speed. Our work is made stronger by their kindness and generosity.” To read full press release, click HERE.
